Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to Paper Banana at paperbananaai.net, including its AI academic illustration tools, accounts, subscriptions, credits, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials, and all activity under your account. If you use Paper Banana for an institution or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

The Service

Paper Banana helps users create academic illustrations, scientific diagrams, conceptual figures, graphical abstracts, and educational visuals from prompts and references. Features, output limits, supported formats, availability, and credit costs may change as the Service evolves.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every generation will be accurate, complete, original, publication-ready, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Scientific and Academic Responsibility

AI-generated illustrations may contain fabricated, misleading, anatomically incorrect, scientifically inaccurate, biased, or inconsistent details. You must have a qualified person review every output before it is used in research, education, clinical communication, public information, or publication.

You are solely responsible for:

• Verifying labels, relationships, measurements, scales, citations, and scientific claims
• Following journal, conference, funder, employer, school, and institutional AI-use or disclosure rules
• Obtaining ethics, privacy, patient, participant, copyright, trademark, and other permissions
• Ensuring that an illustration does not misrepresent evidence or create a deceptive impression
• Adding attribution or disclosure where required

Paper Banana does not provide scientific, medical, legal, or publication advice.

User Content

You retain your rights in prompts, uploads, and eligible generated outputs. You grant Paper Banana a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, process, modify, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and support the Service or as otherwise directed by your visibility settings.

You represent that you have all rights needed to submit User Content and authorize its processing. Do not upload confidential research, protected health information, student records, export-controlled data, unpublished third-party work, or other restricted material unless you are authorized and the Service is appropriate for that use.

Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

• Violate law, regulation, sanctions, or another person's rights
• Create fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, abusive, hateful, sexual exploitation, or harmful content
• Falsify scientific evidence, impersonate a researcher or institution, or misrepresent AI output as verified data
• Upload malware or interfere with the Service, providers, rate limits, or security controls
• Reverse engineer or scrape protected parts of the Service except where applicable law permits
• Use content you do not have permission to process

We may remove content or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address risk, abuse, legal requests, or violations of these Terms.

Plans, Credits, and Billing

Paid plans and credit packages are billed through the payment processor shown at checkout. Prices, taxes, renewal periods, included credits, and cancellation terms are displayed before purchase.

Credits may be consumed according to the selected quality, quantity, model path, and feature. Unless stated otherwise, unused subscription benefits do not roll over. One-time credit expiration, if any, is shown at purchase. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in the applicable offer.

You may cancel a renewing subscription before the next billing date through the available billing controls. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not retroactively refund the current billing period.

Intellectual Property

Paper Banana's software, interface, branding, documentation, and original site content are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service or our trademarks to you.

AI output can be similar to existing material and may not qualify for copyright protection in every jurisdiction. We do not guarantee exclusivity or non-infringement. You are responsible for appropriate clearance before publication or commercial use.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party hosting, AI processing, authentication, payment, email, analytics, and storage services. Their separate terms and policies may apply. Paper Banana is not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, security risks, non-payment, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paper Banana disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Paper Banana will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost research, data, revenue, opportunity, reputation, or publication outcomes arising from use of the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid Paper Banana for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes

We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The updated date will appear above. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
